Sophia Eckersley Rigby


Pictures in this photo is William F. Rigby (1833-1901) and his poligamist family including his wife Sophia Eckersley in Alta, Wyoming. Sophia is a sister to Alice Eckersley Anderson (who is Grandpa Milton Anderson's Grandmother). Sophia and William had 17 children. William Rigby was one of the founders of Rick's College and helped in laying out many of the communities in the Teton Basin area. Rigby Idaho is named after him.

The Eckersley family were converts from Denmark and lived in Wellsville.

Milton Anderson 1959


This is a picture of Grandpa Milton Anderson (in the center of the picture) when he was 22 years old. It was taken during the winter of 1959 in Nevada when he was headed home for Christmas time from the army. He was on a ten day Christmas leave from Camp Roberts in California. Also pictured are Sheryl Karen, Eugene Smith, and Trevor Jones all from Cache Valley.
