I have those pictures of my grandma and grandpa Anderson. My grandfather Hans Jacob Michael Anderson came to America as a stow away on a ship. He was about 17 or 18, possibly 19 years old.. He was not a member of the LDS church and did not join the church until years later. My grandma Alice Eckersley Anderson said that she would not marry him unless he joined the church. He did join the church and they had their family sealed to them later in life. I think that they had the children sealed to them in the Logan Temple after the birth of their last two children (twin boys). I just looked up some information I have in his history.It indicates that he was baptised at the age of 46 on the 5th of June 1904. They were endowed 10 October 1906. I don't know how active my grandfather was in the church. I have heard that my Grandma Anderson was always active in the church but attended meetings alone without Grandpa Anderson. My Grandfather Anderson died 2 February 1929 at the age of 71. That means that he died twernty five years after he was baptized. I was born eight years after my grandfather died and never knew either of my grandfathers. I can remember my dad telling me some things about my grandfather. I wish that I had gotten more information about him from my dad.
My grandfather Hans Jacob Michael Anderson was a good man, honest and very trustworthy. He liked to trade horses and land. He was always trading land and ended up with some pretty good farm land as well as some farm land that wasn't so good. He was very likeable and trusted people. He knew all of the people that lived in Newton. UT and could converse with the Danes and Swedes as well as the English people that made up the community of Newton.
I will make a copy of the history I have and send it to you.
The people that I talked to you about were his brothers and sisters. Over the years many people have researched my grandfathers line and I assume the lines of his siblings. I just thought there might be a greater possibility of finding names that hadn't had temple work done for them.
Here is some other information I have in his history. Hans Jacob Anderson was born 9 March 1858 in Horsens, Skanderberg, Denmark the 4th child of Anders Christensen and Lise Marie Hansen. He came from a large family believed to be ten or twelve children. The birth of only eight children has been proven. He has the following brothers and sisters Kristine Marie, Andrea, Mads Peder, Nils Christian. Jens Carl, Martin Oscar, and Anders Christian. A paper was found written in Mike's handwriting that listed additional names added to the names listed. Carol, Axel, and Caroline. He was confirmed in the Luthern Church 3 March 1872 at the age of 14. After coming to America he changed his name to Hans Michael Anderson or maybe just Michael Anderson.
My thinking is that we might be able to trace some of his brothers and sisters lines. Any way it might be worth a try.
I am glad that you are trying to find some distant relatives. I wish that you were closer so that you could help me.
